Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000

About Sicangu CDC

Sicangu Community Development Corporation (Sicangu CDC) is part of Sicangu Co, an Indigenous ecosystem dedicated to strengthening the health, culture, and self-determination of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate. Grounded in Lakota values and community leadership, Sicangu CDC advances holistic approaches to food sovereignty, education, housing, and health on the Rosebud Reservation.

Position Overview

The Health Coaching Program Manager coordinates and leads the Health Coaching Program, a 9-month, culturally grounded wellness program serving up to 30 participants. This role serves as the primary relationship-holder and program integrator, ensuring participants receive consistent, trauma-informed support while drawing on expertise from cultural leaders, partner programs, and guest educators. The Program Manager does not serve as the sole cultural authority or content expert. Instead, they coordinate and integrate services provided.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Management

· Coordinate daily operations of the Health Coaching Program

· Manage the program structure and seasonal adaptations

· Schedule and coordinate partner-led activities and guest speakers

· Maintain clear communication with collaborators and internal staff

· Manage participant communications, logistics, and incentives

· Working with spiritual leader to provide spiritual guidance and sweat to participants

· Partner tribal programs facilitating talking circles

· Cooking instructors through FSI and/or paid community volunteers

· Working with funded guest speakers supporting health education and goal clarity

· Providing PE Classes and Health Classes to children at WT.

· Providing support during Family Nights by conducting health related activities at WT.

Health Coaching & Participant Support

· Serve as the primary health coach and consistent point of contact for participants

· Facilitate group coaching conversations and individualized goal-setting

· Support participants in integrating teachings into daily life

· Provide trauma-informed guidance that honors survival-mode realities and participant choice

· Assist with resource navigation and referrals as appropriate

Curriculum & Program Development

· Implement and adapt a culturally grounded wellness curriculum focused on:

o Basic routines (water, movement, food, rest)

o Stress regulation and grounding

o Metabolic health education (including insulin resistance and ultra-processed foods)

· Support optional, individualized health strategies in a safe, non-judgmental manner

· Adjust program components based on participant feedback and seasonal realities

Data, Evaluation & Reporting

· Track participation, engagement, and program outputs

· Collect participant self-reported outcomes related to confidence, grounding, and routines

· Prepare regular updates and reports for the Health Initiative Director

· Use data to strengthen program delivery without shame-based or extractive practices

Qualifications

Required

· Experience coordinating programs or projects with multiple moving parts

· Experience working with Indigenous communities or culturally responsive programs

· Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

· Familiarity with wellness, health behavior change, or community health approaches

· Ability to support participants with empathy, flexibility, and accountability

Preferred

· Experience collaborating across organizations or disciplines

· Comfort adapting curriculum and facilitation to participant needs

· Commitment to cultural humility and continuous learning
