POSITION: Accounts Payable Clerk
REPORT: REDCO Finance Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
To oversee the Accounts Payable for all REDCO subsidiaries.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Accounts Payable Clerk reports directly to the Finance Officer and the CEO and is responsible for entering, filing, paying and managing the accounts payable, bank reconciliation and inventory reconciliation for all REDCO subsidiaries.
Failure to provide adequate services may result in inaccurate financial statements and possible financial hardships for the subsidiaries, employees, REDCO, and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish and maintain a relationship with subsidiary vendors.
· Implement and monitor the REDCO Accounting Policy and Procedures for Accounts Payable.
· Record all bills from vendors in the accounting software
· Ensure that all inventory is recorded correctly and efficiently in the proprietary POS system in the subsidiaries.
· Pay all bills for the subsidiaries and maintain an efficient filing system
· Reconcile the accounts payable sub ledger for accuracy
· Assist in the annual year-end inventory
· Ensure that inventory is counted according to the policy and procedures and is adjusted correctly in order to maintain proper internal controls on inventory
· Assist in the annual year-end audit
· Monitor bank balances daily and maintain the bank registers in the accounting software
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
· Computerized accounting programs; QuickBooks, Intaact
· Microsoft EXCEL
· Point of Sale Systems
· Accounts Payable processes
· Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
· An understanding of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s procurement policy
EDUCATION:
The Accounts Payable Clerk would need an Associate degree in accounting, finance or business as an advantage. Bookkeeping certification or experience a plus.
COMPENSATION:
Salary based on education, qualifications, experience, and salary history. The position is classified as a Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerk position according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics wage scale.
